a few years ago, when we first landed in Canada, we were hit with a craving that just wouldn’t go away — Tikki. But not just any Tikki — the kind you find sizzling on the streets of Delhi, served hot on steel plates, drowning in chutneys, and bursting with flavor. Sadly, every place we tried here fell short. That’s when the idea sparked: what if we created the kind of chaat shop we missed so badly?
We packed our bags and headed straight to the source — Delhi. From the bustling alleys of Chandni Chowk to Chawri Bazaar, Kamla Nagar to GK, we tasted it all. We weren’t just looking for recipes; we were trying to understand what made those tikkis iconic. The balance of sweet, spicy, tangy. The crispiness of the tikki. The aroma of ghee hitting the tawa. Armed with that insight and flavor memory, we returned to Toronto and built a team to bring that experience back, brick by brick, taste by taste. For over a year and a half, we tested, failed, refined, and reimagined until finally—Toronto Tikki Co. (a.k.a. TTC) was born.
At TTC, everything is made in-house on a real tikki tawa — just like the ones back home. 100% vegetarian and cooked with pure desi ghee, our menu is tight, authentic, and proudly nostalgic —but with a bold modern twist. We’ve added controlled fusion to our classics—think the Dahi Dhamaka, a burrata-style yogurt explosion that redefines dahi in a chaat, or tikkis infused with regional flavors while staying true to their Indian roots. Signature dishes like our iconic Palak Patta Chaat and the smooth, innovative Cornflakes Khurchan dessert add their own personality to the experience.
